At the 2009 Excalibur 22 year old, 5'5" Eli Blahut won the welterweight class, lost the overall to heavyweight Troy Tate, and started to make a name for himself in the amateur bodybuilding world. Eli posed for a shoot with top photographer Alex Ardenti, was featured in Ironman Magazine in March as one of the sport's rising stars, and graced the cover of the May 2010 edition of Exercise for Men Only.
In January Eli, along with his older brother Michael, drove across country from his hometown of Ogdensburg, NJ to California to see if he can make it as a top bodybuilder, which is going to be a little more of a challenge for Eli who has a digestive disorder and major food allergies (including gluten, potatoes, corn, soy and tapioca).
Eli is supported by his proud parents, his mom writes about him on her own blog Joyful Girls Natural Products. He has also been featured over at Pumping Muscle but is there known as "Jason J" and has done a couple of shoot for them one in 2008 when he was 21 soon after his first state competition win, and then again in 2009 just before his Excalibur win.
